Research Interests
My research interests are centered on fundamental medium energy nuclear
physics and its applications.
My fundamental medium energy nuclear physics
work has centered on understanding the role of quarks in determining the
macroscopic properties of a nucleon. Current measurements of the
down quarks role in the spin of a nucleon have yet to confirm the
quantum chromodynamic's prediction that quarks carrying most of a nucleon's
momentum also contribute to most of its spin. Future measurements at
at Jefferson Lab are expected to be made in a kinematic range designed
to more stingently test this prediction.
